David King, AIA

Prior to arriving in Bellingham in 1985, Mr. King practiced architecture for three years in New York City, two years in Boulder, Colorado and one year in Bellevue, Washington.

He was employed by John Stewart Architects for ten years, during which time he was chief designer on projects including the Alaska Ferry Terminal, The Sean Humphrey House and a variety of educational facilities.

Mr. King became a principal of Stewart+King Architects in 1997 and was project lead for multiple projects with Whatcom County, the City of Bellingham, Western Washington University, Bellingham School District, Mount Baker School District, the City of Ferndale and the Whatcom County Library System, as well as, a variety of corporate and residential clients.

With a commitment to pro-bono work for non-profit organizations, Mr. King has provided services for The Sean Humphrey House, The ReStore/Resources, the Bellingham Food Bank, and the Whatcom Sports Commission Sportsplex.

In 2010, Mr. King formed King Architecture LLC and continues relationships with Whatcom County, Western Washington University and many other clients he has served as Principal at Stewart+King Architects.
