The Everson Elementary School’s support services are flanked by learning pods. The support services “spine” consists of administration area, library/resource area, gym/multi-use space and kitchen facilities.

This grouping allows excellent staff communication and encourages dialog to enhance a proactive curriculum.

The pods can develop and maintain separate identity to emphasize differing groups and their objectives. Traditional teaching spaces are supplemental with a “break-out” space to allow ongoing special projects and instruction. Direct access to the exterior allows more opportunities for outdoor programs and a quieter interior.

Completed in 1993 as part of a $9 million Capital Improvements Program. Stewart+King Architects conducted project management, design and construction administration for all projects within this Capital Improvements Program.
